On 25 th of November, 2015, Google established this doodle to their logo to celebrate the 41st anniversary of discovery of ‘Lucy ‘; a collection of bones that once formed a skeleton of a female Australopithecus afaraensis living in Ethiopia 3.2 million years ago. The discovery of Lucy’s bones gave many information affecting the understanding of human evolution. Some of these information included how ancient species walked upright, suggesting that mankind could have evolved from the ape species. Lucy was a key to many theories to scientists, understanding more about how animals have evolved throughout time.

As a significant moment giving insights on where we have come from, the discovery of Lucy is a celebration, and a phenomenal finding to evolution and humankind.
